Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-06-04
Superhome is an open-source local home-automation project: the gesture control for Home Assistant runs entirely on your own hardware. This website (superhome.me) provides product information, documentation, and account/license management. We keep data collection to the minimum required.
Who we are
This website and the license service are operated by the Superhome project team. For any data-related request, contact us at support@superhome.me.
Data we process
- Account — sign-in is handled by the authentication provider Auth0 (Okta). We receive your email address and a unique identifier to create your account and issue a license. We never handle or store passwords.
- License & device data — device identifiers, your Home Assistant instance UUID, and activation/heartbeat metadata, used to operate the license service and prevent abuse.
- Server logs — IP address, timestamps, and user-agent, retained for security and abuse prevention.
- Cookies — only a session cookie and a language-preference cookie. No advertising or third-party tracking cookies.
What we do NOT collect
The Superhome software runs entirely on your own hardware. Your camera video never leaves your local network and is never sent to us or to any third party. No images, no gesture recognition, and no data from your home ever pass through our servers.
Third parties
- Auth0 (Okta) — authentication. Privacy policy.
- IONOS SE — website and license-server hosting (EU/Germany).
- GitHub — source code and issue tracking.
Retention & your rights
We retain account data for as long as your license is active. Under the GDPR you have the right to access, correct, or delete your data and to request a copy of it. To exercise these rights, email support@superhome.me.
Changes
